We have all heard it before, “Life is short’”
Until the tragedy of losing one of my closest friends, I never really took that statement to heart. I guess it is hard to really convey the importance of living each day to the fullest to someone who thinks they have a full life ahead of them. Even knowing this, it’s hard to pull meaning to it. Yes, we see that life can be short but what should we do and how can we assure that our time here is meaningful?
“In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”
A Lesson From Alex
Even though Alex’s life was short, he lived each day with the intention of bettering himself in order to help others. He lived life with a purpose. Alex had a reason for being and worked at it every single day. He aspired to be a neurosurgeon, all awhile trailblazing a path to redefine education through HYPELITE. Alex’s journey for self-growth was guided by curiosity and a hunger for knowledge. If something wasn’t feeding his mind or his wallet it wasn’t worth his time. Every day he was on a mission.
Alex taught me the value of living with a purpose. Life can be short. Do not just go through the motions because time is precious. In anything you do, do it with all of your heart and your soul, have a purpose.
Discover your Purpose, Live it.
Take some time to think about what you want your life to be about. What do you want from life? It will most likely evolve over time and that is ok. The most important thing is that you make a conscious decision on what you want and start working towards it today.
Write your vision on a sheet of paper, read it aloud every night before you go to sleep and every morning you wake up to remind yourself why you are here and what you have to offer this world.
Take this challenge into your daily life and I promise it will change your reality and the affect you have on others.
WITH PURPOSE, WE HAVE DIRECTION, WE HAVE REASON, WE HAVE LIFE.
LIFE CAN BE SHORT, LIVE IT WITH A PURPOSE.
